Boothbay Harbor Botanical Garden....

We drove up to Boothbay Harbor today and visited the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.  The gardens and natural areas comprise 250 acres and include fern, wetlands, and native plant shoreland gardens, a colection of rhododendrons, and a trail lined with mosses.   As these pictures show, it is quite stunning, it's clear that a lot of thought went into the planning.  The gardens are open year round and well worth the trip.

You can find the school house in the Childrens' Garden; like the rest of the  Botanical  Gardens, this area has been well thought out; it'd be fun to spend an hour or so here with a small kid!
